R Rated #29

FreshNewTracks 17 May 2012, 10:31 pm CEST

Due to some technical difficulties yesterday, I wasn’t able to make it back to the site when it was back online so we had to push back R Rated unfortunately. No worries though, that just means more bass driven bangers for you guys to enjoy. For example this amazing VIP was given away on UKF today by DC Breaks. Given that the original was a Dnb masterpiece, this VIP dubstep mix utilizes the vocals to the max with some new synth additions along the amazing bassline melody. Next up we check out some of the previews and released tracks of the week. Ajapai has been doing work on Rottun records releasing a contstant flow of heavy hitting tunes. You can add his latest single to that list, which is comprised of some aggressive sounds almost resembeling some of the sounds from Downlinks – Factory.

We haven’t heard much from Mojo since his release of Carnival , but now it looks like his EP for Buygore is near completion with previews up on their Soundcloud. I’m kind of bummed this collaboration isn’t featured on the EP because of it’s a one of a kind heavy hitting drop. I’ll be on the lookout for an official release for this one.

Toning it down just a little bit on this next remix; TYR brings a top of the line remix to Calvin Harris’s latest collaboration with Ne-Yo entitled Let’s Go. Being that it is for a remix competition he isn’t allowed to give this remix out just yet. Each drop in this track is different and pretty dope which was why I had to feature it this week. There not insanely crazy drops, but they’re a style that resembles a fusion between old school Flux Pavillion and Nero drops we used to see. The second drop definitely won me over on this one. Be sure to vote for this remix on the Beatport remix competition HERE.

Time for some free downloads so READ ON.

This is a big tune from Metrik we didn’t get to post along with his free three track EP that you can grab through his Soundcloud. Great combination of vocals and laser synths through the track.

This next one from Grimey Bastard caught me by surprise. I nearly blew out my headphones when I was first listening to it not expecting the aggressive drop he had in store.

Enough talking from me here are the rest of the free downloads. Kinzy – Clockwork VIP (Download Link) Modigs – Strike back (Download Link)

Van She – Idea Of Happiness (Herve Remix) [TMN PREMIERE]

The Music Ninja 17 May 2012, 9:39 pm CEST

Van She’s recently released “Idea of Happiness” is a gorgeous summer indietronica tune that will light up the next few months. With the already provided wavering synths, and the beautifully treated vocals, we pretty much could guarantee that remixes would follow.

Herve has stepped up to the challenge and delivered something equally as impressive. With a housey BPM, he’s extracted the vocals, expertly sampled sections of the original, and turned this summer indie tune into a summer club anthem. The first section of the track maintains the original sound to the point where dancers will recognize the track immediately. Though, Herve’s true form shows with the wobbly, bouncy bassline that will insight the aforementioned dancers to start going crazy on the dance floor. The bassline are similar to what we would expect from someone like Jack Beats, which gives more meaning to Herve’s discovery of the DJ/producer duo, with his label, Cheap Thrills.

Gossip – Perfect World (dBerrie Remix)

FreshNewTracks 17 May 2012, 9:33 pm CEST

The New York sensation dBerrie just dropped this freebee on his soundcloud and it is definitely worth your while. A smooth female vocal with distorted vocal chops added, a steady bass line, a fluid piano melody and rising synth carry the lead while the break consists thumping bass, driving synth chords, vocal bits and a rising synth to carry you to the end. This is a progressive house track that you will want to get to liven up your Thursday night activities. Also included above is the popular video for Tiesto & Wolfgang Gartner – We Own The Night ft. Luciana. It is an ode to all the Djs out there partying with their fans from sunset to to sun up. With cameos from Steve Angello, Avicii, Zedd, Afrojack, Porter Robinson and many, many more, the video is a true tribute to the “Dark Days, Bright Nights” philosophy we have here at FNT. Now go out and live it.
